Joe took his first CPR course in March 1984. After getting 100% on the written test, his instructor suggested that he become an instructor. A few days later he signed up for an instructor course, passed it easily, and has been teaching CPR and First Aid courses since April, 1984.

He is familiar with, and has taught for 8 different certifying bodies, including The Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. John Ambulance and the Canadian Red Cross and has recently been formally honoured for his contributions to St. John Ambulance and the Canadian Red Cross.

He has taught students in Public and Private Schools, ranging from elementary to the college and university levels. His teaching experience has spanned every age group; from 6 to over 80, assorted cultures and ethnicities. He has been on the faculty of both George Brown College and Humber College. He has taught First Aid at the Canadian Forces, to all ranks from enlisted to officers, including SARTECHs. While enlisted, he served as his unit’s Medic.

My experience with First Aid Brantford and the instructor Jason was excellent. His practical knowledge and experience as a paramedic made the course engaging, and he constantly applied course content to "real world" scenarios. He was a fantastic teacher and his efforts were very much appreciated!
